Overlooking Auckland’s Waitematā Harbour, this charming coastal garden is connected by paths that make full use of its contained space and removes the need for gravel or lawn.

Details

A layered planting scheme takes centre stage here, featuring a diverse mix of fragrant plants including citrus trees, hibiscus and gardenia.

Creeping carpets of thyme, westringia and feathery phylica invite a languid, summery disposition all year round.

With its coastal location, textural layers and clearly designated zones, the garden is a prime example of a small but highly confident space that is attune to its owners and their lifestyle.
